The young Bulgarian chess player Tsvetan Stoyanov won a gold medal in the category of students to 9 years old of World Chess Championship, which was held from 7 to 14 May at Porto Carras (Halkidiki – Greece).
Tsvetan Stoyanov became a World Champion with the fantastic score of 8.5 points out of 9 possible, officials said.
His personal trainer is a master of sport Zhivko Zhekov of Chess Club – Bourgas.
Tsvetan Stoyanov was born in Kazanlak, but moved to Burgas to train in Zhivko Zhekov’s local chess club. Last year Tsvetan Stoyanov became European champion for students up to 8 years old.
