“The Bulgarian government attaches great importance to the expansion of trade and industrial relations with China as it is traditionally a leading partner in the region. We are ready to support any initiative in order to improve the cooperation between our countries,” – said Deputy Minister of Economy of Bulgaria Irena Mladenova at the opening of the Bulgarian-Chinese business forum in Sofia.
According to her, Bulgaria is ready to assist Chinese companies that would like to invest in machinery, automobile, electronics and electrical engineering, information and communication technologies, chemical and pharmaceutical industry, agriculture and the food industry, and others.
” For Chinese delegation a visit to Bulgaria is an excellent opportunity to present the Bulgarian business with all its advantages and quality of local production, offering its products on the market with more than a billion consumers,” – said Mladenova.
According to Deputy Minister, proof of the potential development and mutual interest between Bulgaria and China is shown in a steady increase in exchange of goods between the two countries. As a result of the increase of Bulgarian exports, China has become the second distance after the EU in terms of exports from Bulgaria. In 2013, trade between Bulgaria and China reached a record high of $1.884 billion. “The upward trend in bilateral trade continues, but it is far below the potential of the two countries”, – said Mladenova.
“For us it is especially important simplification of entry procedure of the Bulgarian agricultural and food products in China, e.g. K. Number of Bulgarian goods has the ability to be constantly present in the Chinese market”, – said Deputy Minister Mladenova.
