It’s Christmas again! Joyful and triumphant …with renewed hopes and faith for a better world! They say, Christmas is the Holly Day for Children and so it should be! Not only for our Children, but for the Children all over the World!
In a few days, those of us who can afford it, will sit around the Christmas and New Year table, share wishes and rich presents and enjoy the best meals of the year. While we are having the best of time, hundreds of thousands of Children in Syria, Palestine, Sudan, Ukraine, Africa, Latin America, to name a few, will go to sleep without anything to eat and nothing to warm their cold bodies and souls. Even worse, most of these Children will not wake up on Christmas and New Year Day with the faith and expectation of a better day or a better life. A lot of these Children will not enjoy the nourishing cuddle of their dead father or their absent mother, nor they will see the Star of Bethlehem, instead they will see the tail flame of the Israeli Jetfighters and the nerve braking sound of the American tanks.
I call upon all of you, who will care to read this message, which comes from my heart, to do a very simple but important gesture. Please buy an extra Gift and give it to a needy child, please don’t throw the left-over form the Christmas and New Year table to the rubbish, take a step outside your door and give it to the hungry and the homeless. Don’t throw your used clothes, give them to somebody who can use them….Simple gestures, but with a lot of effect!
This year, we will not invite guests to the Corporate Christmas Party! This year we will replace the guest list with a list of needy children and orphans from the local Orphanages, we will not give Christmas Gifts to the staff, we will instead give them to those who need them most. May this Christmas and New Year celebrations, help us to open our hearts and give some of our real love to those who need it, primarily to the Children.
