Over the past two years businessmen from the Near East and countries such as Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Syria and Pakistan have demonstrated a significant interest in purchasing property in Bulgaria.
Britons are also returning to Bulgaria as land purchasers. As a matter of fact, British buyers were responsible in a way for the expansion of the property market in 2000-2008 but there was a certain withdrawal after 2008. Today, British buyers are returning. Russians continue to form the biggest group of foreign purchasers in Bulgaria along with Germans, French, Dutch, Belgian, Ukrainian and Scandinavian property buyers.
Attracted by the Bulgarian seaside, foreign property purchasers tend to choose holiday apartments and villas in the cities of Varna and Burgas situated at the Black Sea Coast. Ski resorts Borovetz and Bansko are also appealing to foreign buyers as well as property in the capital of Sofia.
