Foreign direct investments in Bulgarian economy from January to July 2014 amount to 1.221 billion Euro or 3% of GDP according to preliminary data of Bulgarian National Bank. FDI for the same time period in 2013 have been 1.174 billion Euro or 2.9% of GDP. Thus BNB reports a 4% growth amounting to 47.5 million Euro. FDI have increased with 235.3 million Euro in August 2014 compared to August 2013 when the increase has been 103.1 million Euro.
The reinvested profit for Jan-Aug is estimated to be 106.6 million Euro while it has been only 62.1 Euro for the same time period the previous year. Investments in real estate by foreign citizens amounts to 78.9 million Euro. Direct investments abroad for Jan-Aug 2014 amount to 227.8 million Euro compared to 114.9 million Euro for Jan-Aug 2013.
The reported investments for Jan-Aug 2014 exceed InvestBulgaria Agency’s annual forecast for investment flow in economy.
