In the third quarter of 2014 local authorities have issued 7.3% fewer building permits for residential buildings by 3.8% less living space than in the previous quarter, according to the data of the National Statistical Institute. At the same time, permits for administrative buildings (offices) rose by 10.6% and their area – 74%.
Permits for residential buildings issued between July and September are 1039 with 3440 dwellings and 443,659 sq.m. built-up area. Permits for office buildings are 52, their area is 59,793 sq.m.
From a year earlier permits for residential buildings decreased by 11.4%, their dwellings – by 8.5% and the total building area – by 9.3%.
Building permits issued to administrative buildings, less 7.1%, but their total area was 7.7% higher.
The largest number of building permits for new residential buildings were issued in the regions of Sofia (capital) – 133 Burgas – 130, Varna – 120, Plovdiv – 81. The most dwellings are planning to be launched in the regions of Sofia (capital) – 986, Burgas – 674, Varna – 482, Plovdiv – 388, and Kardzhali – 146.
In the third quarter of 2014 has started construction of 600 residential buildings with 1 715 dwellings and 219,906 sq.m. total area, from them – 22 administrative buildings / offices with 21 475 sq.m. building area and 557 other buildings with 329,249 sq. meters area. Compared to the previous quarter the started residential buildings decreased by 26.1%, the number of dwellings – by 23.2% and the building area – by 31.0%. Started administrative buildings were less by 8.3%, but the total building area increased by 25.2%. The number of other buildings decreased by 3.0%, while their total area increased by 48.0%.
Compared to the third quarter of 2013, the started new residential buildings are less by 12.7% dwellings – by 9.5% and the total building area decreased by 25.2%. Decline was observed in the number of initiated administrative buildings – by 47.6%, but their building area increased by 30.2%. The started other buildings marked an increase of 4.9%, and the total of their area – 7.4%.
The construction of the largest number of new buildings started in the areas of Plovdiv – 84 residential, administrative 7 and 43 other buildings; Stara Zagora – 54 residential and 43 other buildings; Sofia – 51 residential and 42 other buildings; Varna – 64 residential and 26 other buildings; Sofia (capital) – 47 residential, 3 administrative and 22 other buildings.
