This year we are even keener on helping the youth in different ways. After the concert in honor of Chris Violaris, organized by Cultural Club “Iskra”, village of Konstantinovo and Ensemble VIOLARIS, came the Prom Season and more. Before proceeding further, I would like to mention recent achievements of the boys and girls of the Ensemble, which proudly glorified the name of their patron at the 5th Celebration of Folk Art “As Living Water”, held in May in the town of Suvorovo, Bulgaria, by winning an individual 1st prize and a Special prize. Ensemble Violaris was also granted a Diploma for receiving the Special prize “The youngest participants”, category: Folklore dance group and ensemble.
In Bulgaria the Prom or ball is called ‘abiturientski bal’ and is held at the end of 12th grade, when you are aged 18/19. It is celebrated generally in the Holiday Resorts, in the end of May, after finishing exams. Usually, before the main event there is a big gathering in front of the high school’s building, where graduates count to 12 (as in 12 grades) and take photos with each other before going to the restaurant called ‘izprashtane’ (‘see off’). It has now grown into a tradition that on their graduation prom students from Bulgaria would celebrate as if they are celebrating their wedding. Expenses that cover the party are more then a lot. Everything has to be perfect from the dress or the costume to the hairstyle.
Every year, Child Protection Department of the Municipality of Varna, help the disadvantaged seniors with the preparation for the Abiturientski Bal, by contacting local grantors. This year Chris Violaris and the Group’s charitable campaign adopted 3 disadvantaged last year girls – Hristina, Nikoleta and Dida, who have successfully graduated their higher education. With the assistance of our colleague from the Legal Department, Nevin, the girls were dressed in beautiful gowns for the special night, when every girl dreams to look and feel like a princess.
Furthermore, initiated by Mrs. Assia Violaris and with the assistance of our Office Manager, Nelly and the Head of Cultural Club “Iskra”, Mrs. Snezhana, we organized an English Language Course in the village of Konstantinovo. 35 children aged 8 to 18 years were eager to learn the language and enrolled in our course.
Our English classes are designed to provide effective training for students who need English for their future work, study, travel or personal pleasure. As a charitable educational course, Choose Life English Language Course exists to give all its students the best teaching and learning facilities it can. We are committed to providing the young people with excellent courses in a warm, friendly and professional environment, as well as caring for every aspect of their teaching.
After 2-months of classes, on the occasion of the International Children’s Day, Eurolink Investment Group and its Managing Director, Chris Violaris, granted a Certificate of Participation to each student, at a concert, which took place on June 1st, 2012, village of Konstantinovo. The most active participant, Gabriela Plamenova, a student in 11th grade, was awarded a Certificate of Performance as well.
Congratulations and good luck boys and girls! May all your current efforts lead to future success!
During the concert, Cultural Club “Iskra” conferred Chris Violaris a Thank You Letter: “A heart that gives, never grows old. A hand that donates a gift never grows poor!” Mrs. Snezhana thanked Chris for his manifested generosity and selflessness towards the Club and its children. Furthermore, the letter says that his donor’s gesture is priceless for the people who constantly work for the cause their children not to forget their roots.
